REVIEWS
It was awesome. Very casual and open with the environment being a great inspiration. Really helped stay grounded to narration vs the flash of the boards and its accuracy. Would do again

Veleree is delightful and a very positive instructor while giving very helpful advice on the project you are working on. Even though I am a senior, I have not had drawing experience and I did not feel intimidated at all. I was pleased with my drawing.

I had an oppurtunity to see this mamal first hand when i visited North west trek, which is a days trip from Seattle. Was very much inpressed by its huge personality and immediately felt a perfect subject to explore the variety of tones that can be derived out of Red and Yellow mixtures. Did several drawings of the bison on paper to get the feel of the animal character. did a few sketches of legs too. I never do initial sketch of the animal on cavas . I just start to paint. Hence this paper

This was my second attempt at trying watercolor. I am more comfortable with acrylic but always looking for different medium to play with. I seem to gravitate to landscapes when trying something different. In this case was imagining an o!d duck pond with reeds but wanted at somewhat abstract, being rubbish at realistic forms. The hardest part was color selection and blending. Was pleased with the result but far from comfortable with the process. Acrylic , for now , will be primary but watercolor,

Butterflies feel like messengers from another world, fluttering so delicately and hovering around us. If one lands on you, it might leave a light trail of dusty pollen. Their wings feel so gentle against our skin. Butterflies seem to move through realms, bringing us knowledge of something significant. Many see them as a symbol of a loved one reaching out. I hope this image greets you with that same tenderness.

In this painting I wanted to convey the intensity of the fox's stare - that something has caught his eye and he is standing perfectly still watching it! I am always intrigued with how light hits a subject - this is why I love using oil paints as you can get such a depth of colour (I layer up the colours) and then the last few brushstrokes are the highlights and that is when the magic happens!

This is Lucy, one of our favorite family dogs. She is the sweetest pooch and loves to ride in the car, windows opened. She is in her glory as her ears catch the wind and almost smiles. I tried to capture her wonderful nature in this watercolor painting. I used very heavy pigment to give detail to her fur. I so love the many styles watercolor allows you to create. It is one of my favorite paintings because, I Love Lucy:)

This scene is from an early morning boat ride in New Hampshire - we had been here a couple of times over the last few years. It was so quiet and the water so still . The early morning fog had not lifted and people were still not stirring. I snapped a photo when I saw this scene with the colorful leaves framing the waiting boats. I knew I would paint this one day. It?s a 24 x 30 gallery wrapped oil painting. It can be seen at the Elizabethan Gallery.

This is a detail style (aka meticulous style) painting done on a sized shuen paper known as glass paper. Sumi ink and a small brush are used to draw the outlines and a layer of ink washes are added for shading. Then multiple layers of Chines colors are added until the colors reach the intensity you want.
