ABOUT SEATTLE

CIRCLE
Come along to our meetups to improve your art in a relaxed and social atmosphere, and under the guidance of a professional instructor. Complete beginners to experienced artists all welcome.

Our 2 hour meetups are held in a different location each time, usually outdoors.

Bring your own materials which can be anything from pencils or pastels, to watercolour or oils.

If you are a complete beginner all you need to start are a couple of good drawing pencils, a rubber, and a drawing pad.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists. The instructor is there to help everyone.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

INSTRUCTORS
Lex Marcos
Lex is a Seattle-based freelance scenic designer. He studied Painting and Art History at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. For several years, he designed sets in Manila and other parts of the Philippines. Lex received his MFA in Scenic design in 2017 through an invitation from the University of Washington School of Drama Design Department. After finishing the degree, he started designing shows in town for Intiman Theatre, ArtsWest, Sound Theatre Company, ACT, Seattle Rep, Tacoma Arts Live, Oregon's Children's Theatre, Portland Center Stage, and Portland Opera to Go. Lex is currently a Senior Scenic design guest lecturer (remote) at the University of the Philippines Diliman Department of Speech and Communication and Theatre Arts.
Megan Gottfried
Megan Leah Gottfried (b. 1998, USA) is a contemporary painter and educator based in Seattle, Washington. She recently graduated from Penn State University with an MFA in painting, and she has been exhibiting her work in galleries and museums across the United States.
Despite her active schedule as an adjunct professor, Megan remains dedicated to her craft, and she spends many hours in her studio each week working on new paintings. She is determined to continue making meaningful contributions to the Seattle art world and using her work to challenge and inspire.
